Affiliate Marketing Tips To Help You Organise Your Business By Sharyn Law-Davis
Affiliate marketing is a great way to launch your Internet business. As an entrepreneur it is easy to get carried away with the project you are working on, especially when working from home. However, if you don't stay organized, it can become stressful. Here are some tips to eliminate that stress.
Keep your information organized, so you don't lose it. If you start doing a lot of affiliate ventures, you could be an affiliate of 100 items and you can't remember all the details associated with them.
When you sign up to be an affiliate with someone, you will receive an e-mail with affiliate link information. It's a good idea to print this and store it in a binder to refer to if you need it later.
Create a separate folder in your e-mail system called Affiliates, and store the affiliate information e-mail there. Then you have all your affiliate information in one folder, and you are not searching your entire in box looking for it.
Often, the affiliate link provided to you is really long. It's also obvious that it is an affiliate. You can clean this up by visiting TinyURL.com. Paste your affiliate link here, click on the button, and it will create a "tiny URL" number specific to your affiliate.
Send yourself an e-mail with this tiny URL link in it, and the name of the program in the subject line. When you get this e-mail, file it in your Affiliates file for easy reference later.
Another nice way you can use affiliate links is with an appropriate domain name you own that can be re-directed to the web page of the product or service you are linking to.
So just how do you show people how they can buy your affiliate products?
One way is to place your affiliate links (or tiny URL links) on your website, if you have one. Many Internet gurus suggest incorporating your affiliate link into information content instead of a banner ad. In other words, create an article about the topic on your website, and use the link in a sentence within the article.
The main way to get affiliate sales is to "tell" others about it.
Your marketing program is essential to get people to your website. The way you structure it will have a big impact on its effectiveness.
E-mail is one of the main keys to any worthwhile marketing program. A website and e-mail can be thought of as two sides of one coin. They need to work together in order to produce sales. Using a responsible method of emailing only those who have granted you permission to send them your product or service information is the way to go.
Don't think people will automatically know about a link on your site. Some may notice it, many may not. You have to Tell folks what the product is and why they need it.
Send a text e-mail with information about your affiliate product. Include your link within the e-mail.
Some people don't respond to the first email you send them. So, send a similar one in a few days. That's why it helps to have an auto responder program. This program lets you set up a number of e-mails ahead of time, to be delivered incrementally. If you don't use an auto responder, just remember to send a similar e-mail every few days (not the exact identical one).
Statistics prove that it takes at least ten repetitions for someone to notice what you are selling them. So, don't think you will get a lot of response with only one e-mail. Some customers will buy on the fifth notice!
Many people have made a lot of money with affiliate marketing. It's a great way to get started on the Internet without requiring physical inventory of your own. Don't let fear stop you from trying. Keep yourself organized, keep positive about the products you are representing, and remember that repetition is one of the key to sales.
